Training Times:
Tuesday: 6.00am to 8.00am
Wednesday: 5.30pm - 7.30pm
Thursday: 6.00am to 8.00am and 5.30pm to 7.30pm
Friday: 6.00am to 8.00am and 5.15pm to 7.15pm
Sunday: 7.00pm to 9.00pm
Total Training Hours per Week = 14 hours
Criteria for entry to the Platinum Squad:
This squad is the fourth stage of the South Aberdeenshire Coaching Programme and the second stage of the ’Advanced Training Programme’. This squad should be seen as the stepping stone in the development of the swimmers to compete with distinction at senior level.
Swimmers will enter the Platinum stage of the South Aberdeenshire Swimming structure following successful completion of the Gold Training Programme. All swimmers within the Platinum stage of the progressive pathway will be eligible for consideration to the SAS Transitional Squad.
The Platinum squad will aim to:

Further develop stroke technique and refine competitive skills

Increase the volume of swimming endurance work including work at and above anaerobic threshold level whilst maintaining quality stroke mechanics

Introduce the concept of anaerobic training

Further develop the ’hard work’ ethic of training

Produce swimmers who can compete with distinction at District and National events

Ensure swimmers have an experience of a wider range of competitive swimming events
