Bronze Squad

Total Training Hours per Week = 3.75 hours


Bronze squad is the first stage of the South Aberdeenshire Coaching Programme. The primary aim is to continue the development of technique and swimming skills in a progressive way across all 4 lanes used by Bronze squad. 

The requisite skills that swimmers should have achieved to progress to Bronze Squad are as follows:

  • Ability to swim the four competitive strokes

  • Individual medley swimming

  • Capable of basic floating and sculling practice to aid swimmers ‘feel’ for the water



Bronze Squad is a competitive squad. Swimmers will be expected to take part in club time trials and SAS matches with the number of other competitions increasing as they move through the squad.
